LYMPNE AIRFIELD HISTORY SOCIETY
Our November 15th meeting will review our presentations for the last year, and go on to preview our plans for 2017. We have covered many eras and personalities concerned with our airfield including record breaking flights, WW2, Jean Batten, Bill Lancaster and overviews of all the famous names connected with the airfield and many photographs of the history from local author Tony Moor's personal archive.
The rich and varied history will be presented again next year. An early highlight will be a presentation by a former Skyways employee who was there for several years before the airline departed for Lydd in 1974. Other subjects will include more record breaking flights and individual human interest stories of those who served and enriched our great history. If you would like to see a presentation on a particular aspect of Lympne Airfield, please come and join us on November 15th, and if you want to be part of these presentations and have something you'd like share with us, please get in touch.
Please feel free to enjoy our continuing celebration of our Airfield in the wonderful surroundings of Lympne Castle's East Bar. There is no charge. thanks to Richard and Rod for providing the Castle in this way.
